Pharmaceutical Manufacturer
Challenge
Our Client was concerned about paying premium overcharges. During the initial investigation, our AuditRate team uncovered
a commonly used
class code which
appeared to be misclassified. Correcting the misclassification would involve presenting a solid case to the Wisconsin
Compensation Rating Bureau, who was reluctant to make
the change.
Action
We formally requested an on site survey be
performed at each of the Client locations.
The
rating bureau declined the survey and
we were forced to take them to a Hearing which was open to the public. The Hearing consisted of a panel
of 20 members, comprised mostly of insurance
executives from large Wisconsin-based insurance companies. Our industry-specific expertise was
a major contributor to our perceived credibility.
Results
After lengthy deliberation, the rating bureau
corrected the misclassification. Our Client was able to significantly reduce their insurance
premium. This change was applied to every
Wisconsin Railroad Manufacturers who used
this class code. |
