The Challenge
A catering vehicle was involved in an accident
in which the vehicle was considered a total loss.
The estimated value for the vehicle was $14,000, but because the vehicle had a rebuilt title,
the insurance company estimated the vehicle value at $7,000.
Action
Our Food Service Leader advised the insurer of
the situation and arranged a conference call
between our Client’s CFO, the adjuster
assigned to the claim, and our senior Claims Representative. We mediated a solution in
which the insurance company agreed to pay
the claim at the higher value.
Result
Our Client recouped 50% more money from the insurer to replace the vehicle. In addition, the overall relationship between the three parties has strengthened and improved.
