Early Intervention Program

The Key is Early Identification of
High Risk Claims!

Within 48 hours of a claim report, we deploy nurse resources, begin addressing underlying issues, ensure appropriate medical treatment and focus on achieving the best possible outcome. We measure outcomes based
on our ability to provide the best medical treatment, the earliest return-to-work and to life, and the lowest cost.
We communicate with and coordinate the activities of all participants in the system: injured employee, employer, medical care provider, attorneys and the legal system
and the ultimate risk bearer.

This program will improve productive capacity and decrease costs associated with Workers’ Compensation and provide you with a significant competitive advantage.

The Early Intervention Program provides
a filter to quickly identify and manages
those claims which typically drive 80%
of your claim costs.

THE EARLY INTERVENTION
PROGRAM PROCESS:

1.  The 4-Hour “Low Risk” Claim Indentifier

An automated review of claim factors within four hours of initial reporting identifies the
“Low Risk” claims.

2.  The 48-Hour Nurse Contact

A Workers’ Compensation Nurse contacts all injured employees not immediately identified as Low Risk. Through probing questions
and a show of concern, the High Risk claims are discovered.

3.  The Medical Treatment Plan

The nurse prepares a detailed plan for cost effective and medically necessary treatment after discussion with the employer and
treating physician.

4.  The First 30 Days—
      Nurse Case Management

Telephonic Nurse Case Management is provided on all “High Risk” Claims for the
first 30 days.
