On Thursday, February 19th, we launched the very first Alper Employee Challenge. The five-part series is designed to build teamwork, enhance communication and test our leadership skills. After dividing into teams and brainstorming some “creative” team names, fierce and friendly competition commenced with a scavenger hunt throughout our headquarters office. Team DJ Cab & the Fantastic E emerged victorious!
Data breaches, privacy violations and network security invasions are no longer just the problem of big business. It is estimated that 1 in 3 mid-sized businesses—of all types, including offices, service firms, distributors and manufacturers—will be victims of targeted cyber-attacks.
Some of the most notorious cyber scams start with one of your employees opening an innocent-looking email under the guise that it’s from your bank or another trusted source.
Too many mid-sized businesses do not recognize how much cyber risk they have, or they mistakenly believe their IT provider will protect them in the event of an attack. If you conduct any business online, store sensitive data on a network, or as we saw, just open an email, you are vulnerable to a cyber-attack. Unfortunately, it is that simple.
Cyber Insurance should be part of your overall risk management and security practices in 2015.
If you’re a victim of an attack, Cyber Insurance can protect you from liability when your customer’s sensitive data is exposed. Cyber Insurance can cover the significant costs you will suffer as a victim of cyber extortion or data loss. More importantly, most Cyber Insurance programs are affordable and will provide you with resources to enhance your businesses overall cyber security.

We have partnered with TCF Inventory Finance, Inc (TCFIF) and Allianz to allow Dealers to secure up to $2 million of inventory insurance coverage within minutes and without underwriting. The dealers represent a variety of industries including Lawn and Garden, Appliances and Electronics, Golf Carts and Powersport, among others. We’re excited to launch the new Alper Dealer Program website, www.alperdealerprograms.com. The site allows Dealers to identify the coverages they need, as well as learn about additional program benefits available to them that aren’t typically offered by other insurance brokers.

This was the fourth year that Alper collaborated with insurance carrier Chubb to prepare 52 Thanksgiving turkeys and dinner gift baskets to benefit families from local non-profits Orchard Village and New Hope Center. Thank you to Weinstein Meats for donating the turkeys and Chubb for the canned and boxed food items for the event.
On November 21st, Alper employees played Santa for the children of George Leland Elementary School in Chicago’s Austin neighborhood. Partnering with our Client, Weinstein Meats, we collected new toys for children in pre-k through the 3rd grade. We’re excited to contribute to their goal and to kick off the holiday season with a great cause.
For the 2013-2014 flu season, several new vaccines will be offered for the first time, although their availability may be limited. Previously, when picking a vaccine, you could choose between a shot containing three dead virus strains and a nasal spray containing live, weakened virus strains. In addition to those options, this year’s offerings include a new four-strain vaccine; a high-dose flu shot; two egg-free versions; and a shot that does not go beneath the skin.
