Chances are the wires connecting your security system, fire alarm and building automation were manufactured by Windy City Wire (“WCW”), an Alper Services Client since 2010. Based in Bolingbrook, and with distribution centers in 19 locations nationwide, WCW manufacturers and markets low-voltage wire and a series of patented packaging and storage systems that save integrators time and money. Alper is honored to provide both Property & Casualty and Employee Benefits coverage to enable WCW’s continued innovation and growth.
According to Jamie Specht, director of human resources, WCW made the move to Alper Services from a larger broker since Alper offered all the resources of larger firms, yet with the personalized service of a boutique agency. “As we continued to grow, we wanted to be sure we had not just the best-possible coverage, but also the best-possible team to identify risks we hadn’t yet seen, and help us improve our processes to keep our overall risk profile low.”
The Alper Team of Experts, led by Chris Breck on the P&C side and Yvette Bickcom on the Employee Benefits side, conducted a comprehensive analysis of all aspects of the business, including a thorough facility safety evaluation and loss analysis. The Team then made recommendations for process modifications to make the operation safer, while the AuditRate Team got to work assessing the accuracy of risk classification and historic premium calculations.
“The entire Alper Team knows our business inside and out and is every bit as enthusiastic about our growth and success as we are,” explained Specht. “Aside from helping make our operation safer, the AuditRate process found several errors in our premium calculations that resulted in more than $50,000 in both reduced premiums and refunds. The Employee Benefits Team also introduced us to high-deductible employee benefits plans that dramatically reduced our costs while improving plan quality.”
As WCW continues to grow, and new risk factors emerge, Alper is there to ensure they are prepared.
“Whereas most brokers are visible during renewal time only, the Alper Team is accessible and engaged throughout the year whenever they see potential new risks emerge,” said Specht.
“For example, as our e-commerce capabilities expanded, Chris architected a cyber policy to provide maximum protection; and when we added a new employee fitness center, he presented a variety of coverage options to provide necessary protection. Alper is the perfect fit for our business—by continuously innovating on the insurance front, they allow us to continue innovating with the confidence that we’re both protected now and in the future.”
